The GreenDT project is designed to modernize Uzbekistan’s higher education system in Environmental Engineering (EE), aligning with global sustainability goals and addressing the country’s pressing environmental challenges. The project focuses on creating a highly skilled workforce capable of tackling issues like climate change, water scarcity, and pollution. Key objectives include:
The project aims to create a cutting-edge Master's curriculum in EE, in line with the EU Green Deal. This program will focus on sustainable environmental practices, integrating the latest industry standards and international best practices to ensure that graduates are ready to meet the labor market's needs. The program will also foster international collaboration with EU partner institutions.
The project will establish state-of-the-art EE-Labs at five key Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Uzbekistan. These labs will serve as hubs for research, innovation, and collaboration with the industry. The labs will be equipped with modern technology, providing students with hands-on experience to bridge the gap between education and practical environmental solutions.
To keep pace with technological advancements, the GreenDT project will introduce digital transformation in Environmental Engineering education. This includes integrating innovative teaching methods, ICT-based learning, and enhancing digital literacy among students, educators, and staff. The goal is to eliminate the digital skills gap and provide high-quality, accessible learning opportunities through e-learning platforms and distance learning tools.
Through these objectives, GreenDT aims to empower Uzbekistan’s future environmental engineers with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to drive sustainable development and address critical environmental issues.
